Joy Poger
Buzzy Lady #1 Joy Poger is the CEO & Co-Founder of Buzzy Multimedia Publishing. Please note than the last name is P-O-G-E-R not R-O-G-E-R although if you are Dreamworks or an exceptionally interesting individual I am sure she would let that sort of mistake slide. As much a Queens girl as Geraldine Ferraro or Nancy Reagan she is also an alumni of the same school that gave us such diverse people as Captain Kangaroo (Bob Keeshan), Jerry Springer, Simon & Garfunkel, Stan Lee and The Ramones…all of them. Leaving tenured teaching positions behind where she was adored and underpaid as all teachers are she decided to get in touch with her inner geek, throw all caution to the wind and founded Buzzy Multimedia Publishing. Anyone who can turn 30 undisciplined American kids into a functioning working unit with a look and a single line can handle the toughest of business situations.

What a wonderful glimpse into the life of these authors. Kudos to Buzzy for making this possible and to Sharon and Steve for being so open. Imagine being so passionate about collecting cat whiskers ? I didn’t know anything of the Liaden Universe till I heard Michael Shanks in Local Custom. It was so good that I’ve read the whole series and am hoping for more.

How have I never read these books? they sound interesting, I may have to go and get the audio book while I’m here and give it a try.

I never knew collecting cat whiskers was something anyone did.

  • Mike Kaiser

I remember reading some of those Liaden books back in the ’80s. Great find out they are still writing plus get to hear so much about their lives and their work.

  • J Chaborek

I will admit, I am one of those people who are tuning in that I have not read one of their books yet! However, I think I am going to. Also, her glass of water reminded me that I’m thirsty.
