Buzzy Multimedia is a company created by and for fans of speculative fiction. Our primary goal is to entertain and encourage people to extend the boundaries of their comfort zone whenever possible. We produce Science Fiction & Fantasy audio books by some of the finest authors in the field and performed by actors of superlative ability.
As we are a pretty casual group our normal everyday dress is a t-shirt and jeans. One day we started producing t-shirts to amuse ourselves and we simply haven’t stopped.
This magazine is dedicated to keeping people up to date with what we are doing but just as importantly and perhaps even more so it is a means by which we can dialogue with you, our fans, customers and friends.
Joy Poger - Buzzy Lady #1
Joy Poger is the CEO & Co-Founder of Buzzy Multimedia Publishing. Please note than the last name is P-O-G-E-R not R-O-G-E-R although if you are Dreamworks or an exceptionally interesting individual I am sure she would let that sort of mistake slide.
As much a Queens girl as Geraldine Ferrara or Nancy Regan she is also an alumni of the same school that gave us such diverse people as Captain Kangaroo (Bob Keeshan), Jerry Springer, Simon & Garfunkel, Stan Lee and The Ramones…all of them.
Leaving tenured teaching positions behind where she was adored and underpaid as all teachers are she decided to get in touch with her inner geek, throw all caution to the wind and founded Buzzy Multimedia Publishing. Anyone who can turn 30 undisciplined American kids into a functioning working unit with a look and a single line can handle the toughest of business situations.
June K. Williams - Buzzy Lady #2
June, also known affectionately as Buzzy Lady #2, has been with the company since it began. She was born in Manhattan, raised in the Bronx (the first 12 years in the heart of the south Bronx) and spent most of her adult life living in Westchester County N.Y.
Always a Science Fiction fan and dabbler in writing she had thought herself too practical to pursue a career in the field. Before coming to Buzzy she spent over 30 years in the travel industry, then one day decided it was time to spread her wings and plunge into publishing. Everyone she knew thought she had gone slightly daft but as this was not the first time they had expressed that opinion she took the red pill anyway and now spends all of her time putting together projects that make each day a pleasure.
Sara Bellum, Editor-at-Large Well hello there, weary internet travelers! Welcome to my humble home on the web. Come on in and make yourself at home. The name’s Sara Bellum, and I’m the editor-at-large here at BuzzyMag - the hostess with the mostess, if you will. I like to think that my first calling is fighting crime and delivering a heaping dose of sweet, sweet justice to all manner of thugs, miscreants, hoodlums, ruffians, and ne’er-do-wells, but unfortunately, violent vigilantism doesn’t exactly pay big bucks these days. Times are tough, my friends, and I’ve got bills to pay, so I decided to put my encyclopedic knowledge of all things sci-fi and fantasy-related to use to help me land a day job. To tell you the truth, it’s kind of a nice change of pace. My manicures have been lasting a bit longer lately. Plus, there’s nothing better than geeking out with my fellow SF/fantasy enthusiasts. Do you have a burning question about a book, movie, or character that’s been haunting you for years? If so, let me know. The gargantuan database between my ears is at your service. Just don’t peek inside the bag, OK? A girl’s got to maintain her boundaries.
Cerebrally yours,
Sara Bellum
