I love the NBC series GRIMM, especially the character of Trubel, played by Jacqueline Toboni. She looks and sounds like a real-life young woman who’s actually tough, as opposed to some of the extremely slender, extremely made-up, high-heel-wearing actresses we are supposed to idealize as female superheroes. What else has Jacqueline Toboni done?

Dear Ella,

Trubel is actually Toboni’s first professional role. GRIMM co-creators David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf hired her directly out of the University of Michigan, where San Francisco native Toboni gained a BFA. Since starring as Trubel, Toboni has had guest roles on the series JILL TAKES L.A. and MAJOR CRIMES, and will be seen in the upcoming feature THE LAST ROOM.
