Bloodsucking Fiends:
A Love Story (Audio Book Edition)
ISBN-10: 1416558497
ISBN-13: 978-1416558491
Author: Christopher Moore

While many are currently deeply infatuated by the newest angsty and rather sparkly vampire craze, I thought I’d take us back a decade or so to another vampire romance of sorts. This would be Bloodsucking Fiends: A Love Story by Christopher Moore The title might suggest that I pulled this book from the bottom of the bargain barrel. Instead what I’ve found is a sharply-written, intelligent, and highly entertaining novel. It has clever dialogue and endearing characters along with something I don’t find very often in this genre. A Brief Intro. to Hurog and Characters in the Hurog Duology
by Patricia Briggs

Patricia Briggs, fantasy books, urban fantasy, Hurog, Buzzy MultimediaHurog means Dragon. It is also the name of a land and a people. Once, Hurog had been a place known for justice and wisdom. It was a place of refuge for slaves. A seat of great magic and power. Here, within the rugged northern kingdom Dragons flew. Trade and friendship had flourished with Dwarvenkind.
This proud and happy land was brought low by the treachery of one man. It became barren and destitute as a penalty for his betrayal of a sacred trust. Now his whole line bears the dark stain. Evil is spreading into the other kingdoms of the former Empire and now the High King Jakoven is bringing their world to a dark and twisted place.

Pamela K. Kinney Interview

Hello Buzzy Readers, vampirologist Theresa Bane here. I have a special treat for you guys. Here for your reading enjoyment is an interview with author Pamela Kinney, but you may know her better by her romance author pen name Saphire Phelan. Pam is perhaps one of the most prolific authors I know writing about 3 books and 50 short stories a year give or take. And she still has time to Twitter if you can imagine.

I hope you enjoy this, and if you do please feel free to say so in the comment box below. Thanks guys, and see you around Buzzy!

Terry: Hey there Pam, happy to have you here with us. Can you tell us about your latest book.

Pam: I have two anthologies that I have fiction short stories in that are out right now. One is “The World Outside the Window,” published by R. J. Buckley Publishing. It features 19 authors in the Amazon Shorts Program. The anthology consists of 19 adult fiction stories by 19 authors, many of them published novelists. The stories run the gamut of fiction, from romance to horror, from suspense to sci-fi and fantasy. My story, “Misery Loves Company,” is a scary ghost story. The other anthology, “Northern Haunts: 100 Terrifying New England Tales,” in both trade paperback and hard cover is published by Shroud Publishing, has my story, “Pukwudgies: Little Monsters of New England.” Proceeds from this anthology go to the American Cancer Society. So, you can have a good, scary beach read or a book to read by the fire at night and help fight cancer.
Both anthologies are available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble and their publishers.
May 2009 I will have a new non-fiction ghost book, “Haunted Virginia: Legends, Myths and True Tales” published by Schiffer Publishing.

Jemma 7729 by Phoebe Wray

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Jemma 7729
Author: Phoebe Wray
Publisher: Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy
ISBN-10: 1894063406
ISBN-13: 978-1894063401
Rating: 4.8/10

One might wonder what a book about a butt-kicking, gun toting female rebelling against the male-dominated patriarchy is doing with a 4.8 rating. Simple. It’s a great idea. But it is a great idea executed poorly. While Wray’s anguished, nonconformist main character is sympathetic and believable (for the most part) the two dimensional plot and the ham-handed supporting cast render it less than ideal.
